A poem of self-discovery and acceptance.
Staring into the mirror,
All its light is divine.
Glistening light rays sparkle.
But the image is not me.
Who am I?
Bits and pieces of bone,
A flesh sack with blood that flows.
Nothing but a body walking through life.
No matter how long I stare,
My true self is absent.
So I scream with all my might!
Shattering the mirror,
Ignoring outside expectations.
I am more than labels,
I am more than what you see.
I am strong and worthy of happiness.
I am what I choose and not what you see.
I define myself.
The mirror will never define me.
