A poem.
Screaming as it pulses through your brain,
No rubber boots this time.
It starts with a tingle,
A twinge,
The spark of light blinds you,
Only to leave you convulsing on the floor.
Thunderous applause from the heavens,
As the power of Zeus takes you.
The finality of the claps echoes in your ghostly ears for eternity.
Prompt by Dr. Casey Lawrence in Promptly Written: ’Write a ‘moody’ poem or story around any or all of the following: thunderous applause.”
