An elegy
You gasp for breath, creating a sense of unexpected anticipation. If it was forever, your heart would beat endlessly with mine.
I wish I said more.
I wish I loved you more.
I wish to lay next to you in the bed of death.
We spoke our vows alone.
We lived life wildly with passion. Nostalgia triggers the unpigmented sterile walls to close in as I breathe heavily.
The thumping in my chest quickens its pace as your hand slowly cools. If it was forever, you and I greet the angels.
Alas, I live while you slip into the gates alone.
